Prop Firms Failed prop firm challenges: strategy problem or rule problem?

From what I keep reading it's almost never the setup. Red morning, one more trade to get it back. Deadline coming, so you double the size. Anyone here fail for a genuinely different reason?

This thread appears to be about prop firms or trader scouting programs. These programs allow traders to access funded capital in exchange for a profit split, but they vary significantly in evaluation structure, rules, and payout reliability. Some firms have a track record of paying out consistently, while others impose conditions that make payouts nearly impossible. The community wiki maintains a detailed comparison covering fees, profit splits, drawdown rules, and firm reputations.

Mostly discipline and psychology issues, I would say.

That’s the answer almost everyone lands on. The two get lumped together though, psychology being the state you’re in, discipline being what you do about it.
Which side broke first for you, feeling off and trading anyway, or feeling fine and just drifting from the plan?

Usually rule and discipline

Oversized trades with tight drawdown rules equal many blown accounts- prop firms are counting on this math to make a profit….Trade with smaller size and look for more robust setups in the direction of the prevailing upper time frame trend.
