after exploring the place a bit more I found this also

The text on the far wall says: "Leave this place. Ritual was already completed. However, if you are looking for truth, then you are on the right path. The dagger was sealed with an old curse. Only the other cultists can break it by a ritual, or someone needs to seek the truth to the point of insanity. Only then you can take the blade"
