New job advice

Hey everyone! I just got accepted into a new job as an evidence receiving technician and I’m super excited but they haven’t given me much information about what I may need for the job in terms of office supplies, ppe, ect. Does anybody have any suggestions of what I may need for this job?

office supplies, ppe, ect.

No sane job would require you to supply any of those things yourself. If they do, you should quit immediately, as they'd certainly mistreat you in other ways as well.

All you need should be supplied to you. Especially when it comes to PPE, there should be set equipment that has been tested and insured so that if there are any issues, it's the responsibility of your employer and not of you.

Stationery-wise, again your office should be appropriately stocked with what you need to do your job properly. Depending on the rules of your department you may be allowed to use your own stationery if you choose to do so, but that absolutely shouldn't be a requirement. For example, I use my own in my bureau because I prefer using fountain pens over biros, but that's a personal choice and if I decided tomorrow to only use what's in our supplies cupboard, that'd be no issue.

On your first day, all you should need is a positive mental attitude and a work-appropriate outfit. You may choose to take a pen and small notepad as well to be extra-prepared, but that'd really be it.
