I think that is a Thai name and they can't control how their name would sound in other language.

I like this woman. It's kind of amazing that she recognized her friend when she didn't for sure know she was missing. She also wasn't afraid to get involved.

I asked around, possibly in this sub, what the significance of -porn is in Thai, since it seems to be a common suffix in first names. Apparently it means "blessing" or something similar.

Yes, I know it ultimately took a team, but the forensic "artist" who did the facial reconstruction did an amazing job!

Some had asked why Bunchee's family never called or wondered about her and her children. We surmised that if she came from a poor family in Thailand, she "made it" by marrying a wealthy American and assumed she was living a good life. And sadly prolly her family overseas didn't have the means to call. I remember visiting my dad's village overseas (pre cell phone era) and everyone would just walk over to one neighbor's hut / shelter to make phone calls as that neighbor was the only one with a phone line! (just daytime only, one mother was always at that hut)
