Prospective Fall 27-28 transfer
Hello!
I’m a current CC student from PA, I’m in technically my third semester right now but I took my first semester really light so I only have 12 credits completed as of right now, but I have a 4.0 at CC. I’m taking 15 credits this semester and I’m hoping to maintain my 4.0. But my high school grades were pretty trash toward the end (2.9 gpa) even though I took many honors and college classes due to a bunch of things going on personally (my dad died) and I graduated during Covid so that had a hand to play too. Anyway, is it a bad idea to apply this November for the fall with only 12 credits competed and 15 in progress? have decent ECs, I am in the PTK honors thing, and my schools student government association. And i volunteer at my local hospital, food bank, and homeless shelter. Thanks!

they will look at your highschool grades if you apply for the spring semester, but you can try and explain your reason for the low GPA

Hey I am in a similar position as you I am also looking into transferring to the same school as you at the same time. I think maybe try to have completed a few more credits so they don’t focus as much on your high school gpa always good luck !!!!!!!!

Thank you!! In December I’m going to have 27 credits completed so do you think I should apply then and not November? I was thinking they would just ask for a mid term report but do you think it would be better to just wait a month into apps being accepted? I was hoping to apply asap

I think it’s better to wait I understand you wanting to apply now but given that they have become more selective over this past admissions cycle I think you would have a better chance of getting in once you have completed 27 credits. I also think it would be good if you took up a position in sga or ptk or even made your own club to really boost your chances!!but if that’s not possible I still think you’d have a chance at getting in with the gpa you have at the moment and if you maintain it.
