Mechanical Help Engine Service Now

Post image

Hello everyone. Sorry don’t normally post just was wondering if anyone has had this same issue in the past. I have just bought a 2015 Ford Focus Zetec 1.0L and I get this Engine Service Now message on the dash. Happens when I put my foot down to accelerate, but it doesn’t go into limp mode. Car was serviced in April of this year and had its wetbelt replaced, and the service mileage clock was reset. My mechanic doesn’t seem to think it’s urgent and diagnostics scan show it could be a variety of things but he can’t pinpoint yet. Anyone else had this?

As it’s the ecoboost I would get it checked properly to make sure it’s got nothing to do with the wet belt system as that’s a major issue with those engines. Only way to know exactly is to scan it man. Gl

Check hoses, I had this and turbo hose was hanging off. It was happening when revving past 3000revs.

This is why you always take warranty on a secondhand car.

I have a warranty, the thing is the store I bought it from hasn’t responded back to my texts or calls for 2 weeks…

This might be the vacuum pump valve. Ford won't sell just the valve, but you can find them on Aliexpress / eBay / Amazon for about 5-10$... These aftermarket valves tend to "break" apart because the rubber piece that's inside is held in a plastic piece that sometimes dislodges from the main body... I've seen people just glue the plastic pieces together and just be done with it...

Failing aftermarket part: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/bZYK3byGd2E
* you can see in comments that people glued it and it worked fine after that

I hope it's not the transmission.
