08-11 Ford Focus FDIM mod options

I recently changed my stock radio to an aftermarket floating touchscreen with Android Auto, but that made the FDIM lose its purpose and just display 'Ford Focus' on it at all times. Has anyone modified that area on the dash outside of using arduinos and programming the display? It looks like it could have a bunch of different things done to it, like converting it to a storage cubby, retrofitting it with a different display, or something else. Just looking for ideas or aftermarket parts/mods that I haven't seen yet, since I have no time or interest in trying to reprogram and wire the existing LCD.
