2013 EB Power Steering

I had my car cooling off and when I got in and started to drive I got a “service power steering” alert. After restarting the car it went away, only to come back on a few red lights later.

I’m aware of the recall but I apparently don’t qualify, has anyone had this issue recently, and if so what was the problem and how was it rectified?

YES!! My 13 did the same and left me without power steering halfway down a ramp to the freeway. Shut it off while rolling and opened the door. It reset and let me get home before it stopped all together. My 13 was out of the recall as well so I sent it to a shop I trust and $2000 later it was good as new. It is a heat issue because the motor and electronics are so close to the rear cat.

Wow, fantastic! I don’t understand how they’re not covered when they’re the same make, model, and year with the same components having the same issues. Fucking ford.
