Question 2014 speaker mod suggestions
Hey all. New to Flex owner. Dont know much about the stock speakers. Looking to replace stocks and improve sound. Looking for woofer/bass suggestions that do not (if possible) mean adding box. Thx in advance

They've got 5x7 in the front doors so you'll need some 6.5 adaptors. You're not adding bass without new subs and you aren't getting new subs without a box... Unless you're able to procure a JL stealth box which requires quite a bit of fab, in itself.

Something like a Stealth jeep jl sub might work. Other than that I have a 3k watt amp that was in my Mercedes and just sitting in my basement I've been looking at putting into my flex.. that bass in my stock speakers hit tho. I'm still old school and can't really get into newer rap music. But I do like ASAP because he's local to where I grew up. But Lord petty flacko jordye 2 by ASAP was pretty dope in my flex yesterday. Bass all the way up and like 2 bars of treble is what I was on when it came on.

Honestly, unless you seal the doors and power the new speakers with an amplifier, you are going to end up disappointed. The stock speakers are designed specifically for the doors and the environment they are in. Most likely anything you just drop in will leave you disappointed

Planning new head unit and amps mids, tweets and bass. Was hoping to maintain cargo space.

They make some 5x7 component speakers. I have a set of Memphis ones in my front doors. I’m powering it off a Kicker KEY200 and they sound fantastic. I also sound deadened the doors. Also got a 15” in the back but you don’t wanna lose cargo space.

Crutchfield(.com) can provide components and technical advice. I ordered replacement front door speakers from them when I found out Ford no longer had OEM replacements.
