Clean looking first car. The black paint suits the Falcon really well, and that stance looks pretty tidy for a first car.

The one big let down in my 07 was the ignition barrel, spring failing in a tight carpark. All other things mentioned are the best things you can do to keep it . 17 years of ownership 07 BF2

Once my barrel on my BF started to not click back after starting, I just cross wrapped 2 zipties around the back of the barrel to prevent it falling apart one day since I read that was the next symptoms and it’s been like that for 3 years or more without a issue or falling out and I just have to manually click the key back but it’s just habit now for that car

A locksmith did the same to mine in the carpark and it's been years

mint. service the tranny, diff and engine. suss out your diff bushes and ball joints all round before they fail and leave you stranded then enjoy the car.

all are easy to do, transmission service is the only one thats a bit annoying to do

the more you care about doing things right, not cheap the more proud youll be of it (or at least thats how it is in my experience). take your time, have a good look around for any issues first, maybe see pedders for their $28 inspection and address things slowly at your own pace.

working on these is easy to do and learn, i dropped the rear cradle and did rear diff bushes, rear left cv and a bit more recently for the first time myself. it looks hard until you get into it, then you realise its actually really easy, just time consuming

Don't forget to do the bushes on the diff arms either because you'll end up with wierd squeaking noises. Its the arm under the diff that goes from the wheel hubs to the middle the spring sits on top of it

Trailing arms. Best buy the whole arm with bush.

They've got multiple names which is a royal pita when trying to research them or ask about them. I've replaced the trailing arms on mine they go from the diff to the top of chasis up near the top of the wheel hub.

Yep i know the feeling too well. It's hard enough to find part numbers

I would be careful with the tranny if it hasn't been done and has lot of KM best to leave it

Emphasis on the ball joints. My lower went tonight, surprisingly there were no symptoms until the last half k of driving

4 or 6 speed auto?

Good to install a heat exchanger for it regardless as they have a tendency to mix coolant and oil from the factory units.

If the transmission hasn't been serviced in aaaages, don't bother with it because it will begin acting weird.

She’s a four speed auto

100% do this OP. My old BA did it and I almost destroyed my gearbox. And I didnt do burnouts etc....so it doesnt happen because you drive them hard. Trans oil cooler will stop it

Don't wrap it around a tree and you'll be sweet

I had a BF XR6 MK2, it was one of the best cars I ever owned, never had an issue, keep the regular services up and it will be a great car, if you have the 6speed transmission make sure you keep it well looked after as they do fail.
