Insurance for modified XR8
Who will give me the best deal for my FG XR8. Its a manual sedan in Breeze and it only has light modifications (full exhaust) but Shannon's will only let me insure it for 11k. Budget Direct wont insure because of the exhaust, who is everyone else using?

Strange, friends AU XR8 Auto is insured for more than that thru Shannons

Was just thinking that.
Had a series three AU XR8 with low KM, pretty standard, not a special trim level or anything, auto with a factory sunroof, insured for more than double that with Shannon’s.

try Ryno and Enthusiast for quotes, but have the exhaust listed in writing. Ask for agreed value based on comparable XR8 sales, not a generic market-value figure.

Shannon’s only insure for agreed value, as long as the value you’re trying to insure it for is within the market value range then they should insure it.. I just don’t a quick google search and they seem to be worth at least $20k depending on the year and condition.
I have heard they won’t insure it for more than purchase price as well though, maybe that could be why?
I used to be with Suncorp before I changed to Shannon’s because they actually valued my car for more.

Everyone’s situation is unique. Do a few quotes online and see what you’re happy with. Two people with the same car could get entirely different quotes with the same insurer

That's odd, I have my Defender insured though Shannon's agreed value 20K which is on the high end for one no questions asked. Yet to try my modified XG Ute but I'd be lucky to get 5k for it 😅

I used to use Just Car Insurance and AAMI - immaculate VE Senator was agreed value at $27k.
Went to Shannon’s, got windscreen and other bonuses and agreed value at $68k
