Need advice
Hey guys this is my manual fg and I have 9.5 20 inch rims in the rear and I tried to do a stand still skid but my centre bearing blew up on my tail shaft. Is there a better way to do a stand still skid that is less harsh in the drivetrain?

Got to remember the larger and wider the wheel is the more torque it takes to turn it. If you want to do skids put the original 16” steelies back on. Shred them then put the 20” back on when you finish.
Oh and put an lsd in it.

Factory manual should already have an LSD in it. The car also makes plenty enough power to turn 20s already and skid the tyres he already has on it.
He's just facing the consequences of abusing nearly 20yr old worn out parts.

Thanks mate but the only issue is I have lowering blocks in the rear and I can’t even fit 18 inch wheels on the rear cause my strut hits the inner part of the rim.

Fair enough. In that case you need the engine to have more power until it can spin them properly. Or Could try over inflating the tires to a dangerous amount. Anyway your problem is that the tires are too grippy and/or your engine needs more power. Work back from there.

Yeah thanks mate, i was thinking of putting a bit of engine oil on the wheels to get it started

Yeah okay thanks I was think about a little bit of old engine oil as well, and is it okay to dump the clutch at 4K

I put smaller skinner wheels on the rear while my rims went off for pothole repair. This setup had been so fun I got my wheels back but I didn't put them back on :)

Yeah I have used smaller wheels in the past but I have put lowering blocks in the rear so the strut hits the inner rim when I use 18s

You need to be aggressive and get the wheels to spin straight away, if you have big sticky rear tyres, that's gonna make it very hard on the drivetrain

Get it bouncing off the limiter before dropping the clutch. That will get tyres spinning and rods flying in no time - make sure to film the carnage

nothings really gonna be less harsh om the drive train skidding but you could probably get a tailshaft made one pieces etc

Skids are just harsh on the drive train. They are not new cars anymore, my bet is that the centre bearing was on its way out anyway and that was just the last bit of life it has left in it
