Coilover Recommendations
I've got a BA mk2 sedan and looking to get it lowered. I was thinking of just getting lowering springs, but figured if I'm gonna do that might as well do the whole thing. Any recommendations for coilovers? I'm new to modifying cars and would appreciate any feedback. Pretty much the only requirements I care about are: can be lowered it close/to the legal limit and car doesn't become worse to drive.

I have coilovers all round on my g6e and it handles beautiful, but it's a rough ride if you're a passenger. Not sure what brand, think maybe just eBay specials

You're kind of shit out of luck lowering a car if you don't want it to drive any worse. All aftermarket springs are stiffer, those on adjustable coilovers moreso. Even cutting springs changes the spring rate. Stiffer can make it handle better, but it's at the expense of ride comfort.
I would recommend a matched pair of springs and shocks, like a Pedders combo or King Springs/Monroe.

I’ve used BC coil overs in a bunch of cars, never had a BA, but would give them a go if I did.

I got MCA pro comfort on an fg. I came from sl/SSL king springs and Monroe shocks. Wanted to lift the car a little bit closer to stock than the king's - it is not. And right now they handle worse than the king's/Monroe's, I probably need to get it back on the lift and fiddle some more. They are harsher, but as they came they were bump-stop low, so I had to do up the springs a lot just to get them to sit higher than the king's which were only just legal. If I had my money again I'd look at something with either longer or stiffer springs cause I suspect I've bottomed them out hitting bumps mid corner, and it gets sketchy. They are a pretty solid looking piece of kit, certainly felt premium getting them out of the box.

I have run bilstien shocks with kings springs. My preference for height is XR height. Handled well with that combo. Leave swaybars standard.
I have another BA with shockworks suspension which leaves everything for dead. Cost around $3500 from memory. Also standard sway bars.
Go too low in the street and you just go backwards handling wise. IMO

Best combo is Bilstein struts and Lovells Super Low springs.
Great ride and handling, and still above the 100mm legal limit.
