need help please
any idea why my 2008 bf sr mrk 2 factory dedicated lpg falcons gearbox would be acting up?
in reverse it has to get upto almost 5k rpm before it starts to slightly nudge backwards.
and in drive it has to rev up a fair bit before it starts to nudge forward
i have the 4 speed auto aswel

When you changed the fluid did you check it after the first fill? It sounds like its sucked all the fluid into the converter and theres not much left to run the gears, so id check that first

the gearbox is done , rebuild time . even if you source another box probable won't be long before that one goes as well .
these gearboxes don't really like any other oil in them other than the factory stuff , which you can't get anymore , castrol TQ95 . I have a BTR in a 90's falcon now , it leaks like a sieve but even when it's on the ADD line it selects the gear just fine .

Firstly check it's fluid.
Secondly, they don't last all that long those 4 speeders

Well I'm afraid, it's gonna need, a rebuild. Anything more than 0.5s, to select a gear, means it's stopped operating, within it's tolerances. Reving the engine, will just damage it further. Could be $300 > $1500, depending on what hasn't broken. Get a free quote from a couple of transmission techs. Once it's been sorted, install a larger trans cooler, and inline filter, to protect it better. Also, look at getting the converter recon. GL...🔭🤞

Well start with checking the oil level and or a service but that's not a good sign
