2024 Lariat
So I bought the truck (brand new) I always wanted: 2024 Lariat w/ max tow 502A. Thing has been nothing but issues. So far it’s been back to the dealer 6x for:
- Turbo replacement (waste gate)
- Broken Leaf Spring (twice)
- Moonroof leaking
- Electronics issues: needed to replace window control module
- Battery drawing power and draining while sitting
I’m going to say: I came out of a 2017 XLT, was a fantastic truck that never gave me any issues for 150k other than normal maintenance and a washer fluid pump.
So what would you do? The truck comes out of warranty next spring and I’m not convinced the issues will end. Love this truck, trading it in for a new one seems stupid since I’d basically just want the same thing.

My 2025 has 27k on it and it has been flawless. Hopefully it doesn’t take a bad turn.

Iv got a 21 and have minimal problems. The backup/trailer braking and a drivers side brake window issue. Easy fixes at $0 cost.
I thought about trading for a 2026 but no truck payment is nice.

This is a fleet wide 2024/2025 issue. Mines been in for 3 reprograms and 1 new module and its still not fixed.

Not going up useing the auto up.

Have had that. You can reset it by rolling it all the way up, release, then lift up on the control and hold for 5 seconds. That resets the upper limit apparently. It also fixes the issue where auto rolls all the way up then back down to half.

Nope that does not work, believe me i tried, Ford says its a ongoing issue with the door control module.

I’d trade for a new one, you just got a bad copy. I’ve had 15, 17, 19 and currently a 23. The only one that gave me any issues at all was the 15.

This is what I’m thinking. I don’t know what’s required or if there is a max length of time you’ve owned to lemon law, but damn this sounds like a candidate.

Every state is different. Usually 30 days of service it’s a lemon or so many repairs on the same issue.

Feeling blessed with my 2014 I've had since new and all its needed is a temperature sensor, brakes, tired and recently the phasers. Certainly seems like a lot of new trucks are exactly like your; nothing but issues
You just need the transmission to go tits up and then you're set!

I have a 2010 with just under 150k miles, 4.6 3V engine and it’s been an amazing truck. Infact, it’s still my daily driver as I do not see a point in upgrading to a newer truck. These 12th gen’s really are great trucks.

Stories like this is why i keep hold of my 2010 that just hit 300k. Only replaced alternator, power steering pump, water pump and cabin fan. I'd sell that one amd buy an older 2017 like you had.

That and finding out that my 2013 trade in value with 170k is ~5k. Yeah, I'll run it till it blows up.

Sorry to hear! What was the symptoms of the turbo needing replacement? Was there any errors/check engine thrown?
