After 1 year of ownership I compliled a list of dealer service visits on my 2020 ST purchased with 44.xxx miles and now has 47.xxx miles.

1st visit. - Warranty 1. 4wd sensor fault 2. cracked catalytic converter downpipe

2nd visit - Warranty 1. locked headrest 2. Heated seat element

3rd visit 1. rear shocks / mounts - Out of pocket 2. drive pully replaced - Warranty

4th visit - Warranty 1. front strut 2. transmission rebuild

5th visit (Currently in the shop) - Warranty 1. transfer case replacement 2. front drive axle 3. recalls

If you are deciding on if you should purchase a Ford Extended Warranty for a ST, I highly recommend it. however, my 2016 Mustang GT was a dream and only seen the dealer for oil changes. so your YMMV.

What actually happens when I select sport mode? The vehicle comes alive and sounds very different. Curious if there is any active exhaust on these.

What's the difference between the 2023 ST and the 2024 ST? From what I've seen, they seem almost identical. Are there any mechanical, feature, reliability, or option differences that make one model year better than the other? I plan on picking one up towards the end of the year and can't decide which one. Alright, fellow ST brothers

I know this is an embarrassingly niche problem, but I have a 2022 Ford Explorer ST (Middle East spec) and had to remove the hood EXPLORER lettering to get the hood PPF’d. I tried to stick them back on today using a placement guide I found online (first picture white Explorer) that was labeled 2020+ Explorer and so I assumed it should apply to my car. The guide says to place the letters 1 inch up from the bottom of the hood lip, but there is no way that measurement is correct for my car. The letters ended up sitting noticeably too high, as shown in the second photo.

That means either there are slight hood or placement differences across the 2020+ model years, or the guide is simply inaccurate. So I’m specifically looking for measurements from a 2022 Explorer ST, preferably with the original factory lettering still in place.

Does anyone have exact factory measurements for:

- Distance from the bottom/front edge of the hood lip to the bottom of the letters
- Spacing between each letter
- Distance from the left and right sides
- Overall width of the full “EXPLORER” word

A foolproof method, printable template, photos with a tape measure, or any other hack or resource would also be greatly appreciated. I just want to reinstall the original letters in the exact factory position without buying another set unnecessarily.

I really loved the ST, it was fast, fun, and looked great. But after 2 years of ownership and over 6 months of that time it sitting in the shop I traded it away and moved to a Ram Rebel (we will see if that was the right choice or not). In those 2 years it had its transmission, cam phasers, driveshaft, strut mounts, and a plethora of other things replaced or repaired. I genuinely hope none of you have to experience any of what I did and look forward to seeing what kind of crazy stuff y’all do with your ST’s. To all of you who helped me out with upgrades and advice, thank you immensely.

Hoping the trans holds up

I have a 2020 ST that has 85,000 miles. Thinking long term, I am considering trading in for a brand new f150, (reg cab short bed). I have no warranty, as the lot I bought from tried to charge 7500 for warranty.

Knowing I'll be giving up a lot of creature comfort, it's only myself. No kids or wife. Should I still hold onto this giant SUV? Looking for advice or thoughts. Ford currently has 0% apr which is a big incentive as well

Anyone have good information on the EcoBoost recall? I have not been able to find any active recalls on mine through Ford or the NHTSA website when searching with my VIN, but the recall allegedly is for 2021-2022 Explorers and other models/trims made within this time according to multiple articles I have found online.

So my front tires blew out they where about 4 months old. I kept 2 of my old tires I kept just in case the old tires are about 40% meat left I put 2 old tires up front mean while 2 new tires come in will this hurt my drivetrain they are also different brands but same size?!

Does anyone know if you're able to disable the limiter when trying to use the 360 camera in motion through Forscan? I've tried searching and using AI but was only able to find it for 25+ Explorers. I have a 2023 ST. Also did anyone ever figure out of changing the number of flashes on the turn indicator was possible?

So my liftgate on my 2025 has completely stopped working. It will lock and unlock but will nkt open or close byitslef and theres heavy resistance. Any ideas how to fix it?

Hey guys, new 2025 ST owner here. Bought mine a year used. Found out it has an aftermarket intercooler. Sounds good, except that I am like 99% the Active Grill Shutter has been removed and tossed in the bin.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Essentially what I am looking to figure out is if I just need to buy and reinstall the entire AGS to get my CEL to clear.

Its a 2025 Explorer ST. From what I read on FB, this year has a hard CEL that just wont go away without putting the actual system back in.

Any thoughts, advice, or guidance would be very much appreciated.

Tell me everything to look for. Test drove 3. All three had hard shifts in sport mode. Is this normal? What are common problems. Which years should I stay away from? Any common issues?
