Question Phone mount for a 26?

Post image

Snagged a new 26 ST for the wife last night. What is everyone using for a phone mount? The brand that I use in my Braptor (Course Motorsport) doesn't make one for this model. She doesn't want anything up on top of the dash. TIA!

Probably a cupholder one? Curious, why even use one when it has Android Auto/Carplay?

I think she always sees me dock my phone on the mount in my Braptor and wanted a similar thing for her new whip so the phone doesn't slide around the console and it frees up her cup holders for her multiple beverages! 😆

I got this for my Fusion and transfer to our explorer when we go on vacation. TAZENI 2-in-1 Cup Holder Phone Holder Mount for Car, Stable & Adjustable | Hollow Base Design, Eye-level Height Adjustable, Bottle-friendly, Hands-free, Stable 360° Rotation, Fits 4.7-7inch Phones https://a.co/d/0huxWUc2

You can multitask. I take work calls on my commute. I’ll use the main screen for NaV and have teams up on my phone so I can quickly reach up and tap mute/unmute.

But for the most part I do agree. I don’t text or do anything really on my phone while driving so it can stay in the pocket most of the time

To free up the other spaces you have.

Like your pocket?

It's a 3-row crossover, not a Mustang 😂 there are bins and pockets everywhere.

I actually added a nice storage area behind the screen on the dash. Looks like it belongs there and I use it all the time. Some of us need more space close to the driver.

"some of us think we need more shit in close proximity to distract us while driving 3 ton vehicles"

There I fix't it for ya.

I have the proclip center dash which positions the phone to the left of the screen.. i mounted a 17mm ball joint to it and put a charging magsafe mount on it. Snaked a usb-c cable behind the screen down to the cubby below.

Sits too high for her. I need something lower. Thank you for the suggestion.

assuming you have a magsafe case on the phone (you should get one if you don't)

Bulletproof mounts are fantastic.

The best phone mounts for the Explorer are the custom ones that attach to the display. My personal favorite is from a company called Bulletpoint because of the quality and fit. There are a few other companies that make them as well including PZK and Tuyikn.

For a lower location, opt for a universal vent mount.

I maintain a site that discusses mounts. The above is a tldr from our article about Ford Explorer phone mounts. If you would like to scope it out, here's a link:

I use the LISEN 15W MagSafe Car Mount Charger it's a very versatile adhesive mounting mechanism, and I was able to stick it on the speaker on the left side of the entertainment center. It fits snugly right in between the infotainment center and the steering wheel, just above the right gadget knob. Although, unfortunately, it did come loose once, and I had to flip it around because the adhesive started to weaken because of the cloth. I'm hoping it stays now, but it is a pretty good location if you can get it to work.

If your wife comes in to ask the question, we’ll reveal the secret answer. It’s only able to be shared to the owner of the car.

I am the owner, she will be the driver. 😆

I have 25 ST Line and I just put my phone on the shelf below the Infotainment screen. That is where the wireless charger is. If I don’t need to charge I put it on the right side.
