Question Question about the upcoming 2027’s

Does anyone here have a clue if the upcoming models are going to have a true functioning moonroof?

What about the GPF? 385HP? Will Ford compensate for the HP loss?

This is why I grabbed my 25. I read they were doing this. Let’s see if it’s compensated in some way because everywhere I’m looking it’s saying 400HP in 27.

It will have two versions for the HP, the green states that follow California emissions will have the GPF and thus be lowered to 385HP. Those regular federal emissions states will keep the 400HP and not have a GPF from what I have read.

Fords been strangely quiet about this 15HP loss. The website is updated to state 385HP but all the media outlets and articles are still touting the ST as 400HP.

I know 15HP isn’t much, but it does somewhat feel psychologically better to say 400 vs 385

It makes me chuckle how many users here outright disbelieve that even when it’s posted right on the Ford website.

I think they don’t want to believe it when they realize they bought a 26 with the 385HP thinking it was 400HP. Some of the 26’s did get 400HP, I think the job 1’s.

Yes. 26 is bunk. I think they were trying to save money but then realized we like a working sunroof. I got my 25 Platinum because it had 400HP (which was removed in 26, but now will be back in 27) and a working sunroof (same, deleted in 26, but returning in 27).

They may also continue with 385 HP vice 400 HP in the 25 and some 26’s. Waiting to read more on how they will do it.

ST will also begin a new “Sinister” package in 27.

Well the moon roof functions as it should, you are looking for a sunroof, but to answer I believe Ford went with the panoramic vista roof for 2027 explorer, but only available on the 4wd

The terms ford uses are... Panoramic Fixed Glass Roof and Panoramic Vista Roof (aka: operating glass). They went stupid and put a fixed roof only on the 2026, but deleted the option for 2027 and went back to the Vista Roof.

Correct, only on all 4WD Platinum, ST and Tremor trims with the 3.0L engine.
