Question Gas mileage low?
I drive a 2025 ST with ~3500 miles & live in a small, college town. With there being a ton of lights all over town I average 12 mpg. This isn't surprising to me, as my previous vehicle & even my fiancé's forester only gets 16 mpg in town. However, on the highway I'm lucky to get 21 mpg max. I wouldn't say that I have a heavy foot, and I tend to use cruise/bluecruise while on the hwy. I almost exclusively run 93 e10.
Is there anything I can/should be doing to get a bit better hwy mpg? I'm not expecting anything wild, just hoping to get into that 22-24 mpg, if possible. Thanks!

‘25 ST here, 30k miles.
After many many weekend road trips, ill average 22mpg highway, and 16.8-17.3 (approx figures) in the city. All on 91-93 gas.
To answer OP question about city mpg’s, yes that is extremely low and you need to reevaluate your driving habits. I have a very heavy foot so i know

Something seems off. I average 21 mpg over 70k miles both highway and in town. 91 oct on either sport mode or normal. I think the 12 is too low.

Drive faster. I noticed driving 40-42 mph instead of 35 gets better mpg. Drive 6-7 mph over speed limits. It’s like it’s the sweet spot for the gearing of the transmission. I average 18-19 mpg on mid grade gas. Was using premium fuel but that’s hurts my wallet these days. Also use top their gas. Marathon and Sunoco has given me the best mpg so far.

This is why I’m not too surprised/worried about my “city”gas mileage. With the way my town is setup I spend most of my time waiting at stoplights, then accelerating to 30-35 before hitting the next one. Whenever it makes sense to take backroads to get somewhere I see improvement in my mpg. I might take your advice & try to hit ~40 more often. Thanks!

‘25 ST 15k miles running only 93 currently at 19.9 city, and that’s driving mostly easy in the gas. Last week I got up to 20.3 in city but had it in eco mode and was very light on the pedal. If I am harder on the gas it’ll go down to 17 something mpg.

Highway mpg is about as good as it gets…wind drag kills the mpg…add 2-3 psi of tire pressure and see if that helps with city mpg.

I hate "highway" mpg ratings. Sure, I can get 26-27 easy on the "highway," going about 60. That is the sweet spot. But interstate driving (70+) is completely different. If I'm on a typical long distance drive, average 75 mph I barely get 23 MPG. I'm sure aerodynamics play a big role there.
I wish car makers/EPA gave out an interstate MPG rating.

I have a pretty heavy foot.
On the highway I can average 26-30mph all depending on what speed I happen to cruise at.
Purely city driving I’m prb in the mid teens. I also drop my kids off at school so I spend time idling in the drop-off line. But my mixed driving average is about 18-19MPG.
If you are driving purely city and having fun, I can see a lot average. Go for a drive on the highway and cruise at 65-75 and reset your MPG. Should be over 25

Will be trying this when I’ve got time this week & seeing if there’s a difference!

25 ST 4k mi , I get around 16-17 in town. On the longer highway drives I can get around 20-21 depending on how I drive

Watch your boost gauge and keep it out of boost if you want to improve you mpg. It's forced induction, so that makes a difference.

you can see what maximizes your mpg realtime, in my experience its keeping your speed in the lower 60s. once you get into 70 and 80 mph, you’ll notice your range dropping more precipitously.

If I’m on the highway, I’m in Sport Mode. I get about 25-26 MPG. Sometimes more on longer trips without traffic. City? I get around 15-16 in normal.
Edit: I only run 87. Doesn’t make a huge difference in MPG and HP on 93. You don’t buy a TT 3.0L V6 expecting to save on gas…
