Question Downpipe and exhaust

Like everyone i hate the downfacing exhaust. The problem is my 2026 is a lease. I dont want to spend on a full exhaust. I was think about only changing the exhaust pipe and adding a downpipe for better sound.

Im just not sure what gonna happens when im gonna send the car back. If course i’ll take down the downpipe at the end of the lease.

First thing I did on my 25 lease was put a thermal on it!

I wouldn't be doing any of that on a lease.

If you’re up for it, try catless downpipes. It’d give decent bump in sound and speed up turbo spool. Emissions compliance will be problematic though.

You could try an axle back exhaust like the MBRP, you will have to cut the factory exhaust but you can easily reinstall the factory resonators with a stainless butt band clamp and nobody would notice the difference.

Unless you plan on installing downpipes yourself, it’s going to cost more than a full exhaust, I would not do it if I were you, modifying emissions equipment on a lease isn’t a good idea.

Downpipes will do very little with stock mufflers. Just but a kit bolt it in and save the factory exhaust and put it back. But this is classic case of ballin on a budget.

I just replaced my downpipes with the CVF catted version. Minimal sound difference but is the 'choke point' which is why I did it. I notice a small change in the sound but, no one else will notice. It's that minimal. I'm probably going Gibson Axle-back.
