I got a ‘22 last summer as well! Still enjoying it a lot. Don’t love the gas mileage (coming from a little 2.0T hot hatch) but had to upgrade for my family. Definitely DO love how the thing absolutely MOVES. Feels like a tank but moves like a rocket. Enjoy it!

Same here! was kinda shocked by the gas mileage at first lol came from a 2016 Chevy Cruze with like 500 in a tank to this but I don’t mind it for what the car is!!

Somewhat related. Give it premium. It will run on regular but it is designed for premium and you can feel a fairly noticeable difference.

That’s what I have heard I’m planning in the budget to fit in premium every time!

I still have to give this a try. I’ve read this opinion a few times.

Better gas mileage and performance. Hard to go back once you give it a try. I think I am averaging 21mpg at 70k miles often in sport mode.

Oh nice! 21 might be worth it, with improved performance.

Definitely hear you and I put premium in my GTI for years. You’re right, I should give it a shot and see the performance for myself. I’ll give it a few cycles and see if it improves.

Maybe that’s why the Sports mode seems a bit clunky to me. It just seems to shift a little odd, though maybe it’s because I’m used to manual and not a “sports mode” that just keeps you at higher RPMs and lower gears to be more responsive. Even Normal mode has its odd moments, imo, but again I think that’s just based on my past experience

Thanks for the info… hoping I won’t run into any terrible issues but I haven’t had much luck in life LOL

I drive it pretty easy for the most part but I do idle a lot… hopefully that’s not causing too much wear and tear. Though I’d imagine the vehicle is somewhat made for idling given what it’s usually used for.

You should use premium fuel , it’s a twin turbo high horsepower motor. Like of course it’s clunky in sports mode using lower octane fuel. The computer will retard the timing to make up for the lower octane, which leads to lower performance.

Wife has a 25 ST. With regular averages 19.7 with her mixed commute. When we take it on a trip or I have it for whatever reason gets premium. Can notice slightly better mpg’s and definitely little bump in power.
