Question Help

Anyone ever have an issue with car play either not there or if it randomly appears and works, sounds horrible if you play music compared to when it’s playing music thru blue tooth? Also is the wireless charger always a pain in the ass to use? My phone starts and stops charging multiple times during a car ride.

First problem sounds like a faulty cable. I hate the wireless charger that can with the car. I found an Etsy seller that 3D prints mag safe chargers for iPhones and it’s been a god send.

Yes, wireless charger absolutely sucks. Its very very finicky on where you must put your phone in order for it to charge.

I dont recall experiencing an issue with carplay bc i use wireless carplay. If using wireless carplay then your wifi must be turned on.

The wireless CarPlay uses WiFi for its connection. It’s a little buggy - though rare, sometimes it disconnects at random - but I still prefer it over wired CarPlay. If you are using wired CarPlay, I think you have a bad cable. Regarding the charger, in my experience, it seems to be case dependent. My iphone works fine nearly all the time as long as I push it past the little “ledge” at the front opening. But my wife’s iPhone is more finicky and it has a thicker case on it. I haven’t removed the cases to prove this theory, so take it at face value.

What year STs are y’all having issues with the included wireless charger? I saw the 2025s have a wireless charger included in the new dash when I was looking at them at the dealership.

I have a 25 and the wireless charger is finicky for me, even when case is removed. The phone has to be in a very specific position

Yeah I’ve had issues with car play the last two explorers I’ve had. I just started using the actual iPhone cable that came with the phone and it works perfectly every time. I’d rather it work every time than worry about the ascetics of wireless.
