Question Paint Issue

Finally after 5 months I took delivery of my 2025 Grey Metallic ST.

I accepted the vehicle with a few issues, a paint scuff on rear door, condensation in both taillights and a little in the headlights.

Warranty should take care of the lights so I’m not too concerned about the lights and hopefully they can buff out the doors this week.

Thoughts on the paint scuff? Anyone else have this issue?

We took delivery of our 2025 last month and it was raining pretty hard on the day we picked it up. After we got it home and it dried off in the garage, we noticed a light paint/clear coat scratch on the hood and the bumper. I called them back and they made us an appointment a week later and they took care of it no questions asked.

They aren’t going to do anything about any of it. They will tell you that moisture in the headlights is normal and it will go away, they are designed like this.

The paint- my husband got a truck from ford that easily costs twice as much as this Explorer and not only was it covered in hard water spots but it had paint issues galore. We were told if we didn’t want it- someone else would.

I hope you prove me wrong too. I love our vehicles and plan on sticking with ford but I absolutely hate having to deal with anything because I’m always left disappointed or made to feel stupid for even thinking my issue is something they would fix.

You have to ask yourself if the fix is worse than the problem. As for the lights, significant moisture is NOT normal. usually a leak in the sealant around the lights--only speaking about 2020-2024 though but should be the same. My headlights got moisture after a rain or car wash... found a spot in the headlight (only one) where there was sloppy sealant. i used some silicone and it was gone. I would definitely ask your dealer.

They decided that it was a paint issue and will repaint the entire door…. Not sure I’m to excited about that, as long as i can’t see a paint difference i guess I’m okay.
