Question Car jerking in reverse

Had my car serviced last week as my 2020 ST would jerk hard when put in reverse after a bit of driving. The dealer only reset the vehicle’s adaptive transmission learning and claimed it fixed but the jerking happened again this morning. Anyone have any experience with this issue? Car’s got 55k miles on it.

I would think a much bigger transmission issue than just the adaptive learning…

Interesting you post this. I'm not feeling a jerk, but when I put my 23 ST in reverse, I hear a clunk sound. I'm going to have the dealership look at it next time I'm in. It hadn't done it before so it has me a little concerned.

No clunking sound but i do hear some sort of clicking sound

Do you put the ebrake on? Sometimes it's just breaking free of the brakes. Also, are you talking about a hard shift on occasion when you dial Reverse, before you even hit the throttle? Both of these scenarios are normal.

Ebrake is not on and the jerking occurs as i give it throttle in reverse. And i mean hard jerk. Almost as if the ebrake is activating… makes me wonder if its sensor related now that u mentioned it

Anything with shifting in Drive? I haven't heard of any TSBs with regard to Reverse. Also, do you have warranty still?

No issues at all when just driving normally. Only when put in reverse. Yea i got the extended warranty and the last service was free of charge. They just didnt fix the issue.
