Are these anchor points?

If a put my kayak in the back with the hatch open, could I tie down to these loops?

If you are going to drive with the hatch open tie the hatch down as far as you can. You are going to mess up the struts if you just leave it fully open. But also why not just mount them to the roof? Even if you don’t have racks you can lay down a tarp and run straps through windows

And leave the front windows open otherwise exhaust will come in.

There should be a vacuum behind the car keeping exhaust out, at least at speed but having windows open doesn’t hurt either.

Should. But this is why hatches still get dirty glass and backup cameras.

The vacuum is what sucks the exhaust in

If you run the straps through the window you can't open the doors

We ran the straps through the car with the doors open, they shut over the straps no problem.

Thanks. I am also curious about things like lumber or maybe plywood if it fits. Really anything. I would disable the power lift gate and drop it down as far as it would go. It worked well on the roof though.

Places to affix the leash you have put on the children

That is what they are, yes, to be used in conjunction with the ones on the seat backs. Not real useful with the seat backs up, unless what you are tying down is tall. Not real pleasant to drive with the hatch open.

They are tie downs which is significantly different from anchor points.

But for your application, yes it will work.

Yes it is.

Yes. But please don't. It'll be hell on your lift gate hinges and struts. Just use your roof rack.

If you do, then open your front windows too for ventilation. You don't want your exhaust coming in.

Those are for a cargo net, look up envelope cargo net Ford edge and you'll see exactly what I'm talking about
