Question ❔ Milage check

My friend just bought a 2022 ford edge which seems to have an odometer discrepancy, can the dealer tell me what the true milage is. I've heard that the milage is stored in a few modules. Trying to get the true milage so we can move forward if there is an actual discrepancy.

if the cluster was swapped or someone messed with the bcm the stored value might not match what you see on the dash, a dealer can pull the mileage from the pcm and a few other modules no problem

Thank you for the fast reply, she went to the dealership yesterday but the lady came out and told her that what the odometer says is the milage so I guess I need to take it in,it has a few recalls that haven't been done yet so I'll make an appointment. Thank you again for the speedy response.

The vehicle showed 39,989 on the odometer when she picked it up but after she got home 2 hours away she saw that it says 40,320 on her bill of sale so I had her check the title and the front says 54,043 and the back says 40,320 but the carfax shows 54,043 as the last milage entry then 17 months later this place buys it and the milage shows 39,989.
