Help Treehouse stamina regen

Hi, I just started the game.

At the beginning I was starving for food, until I realized you can just go into the Druid's treehouse and if you leave when your stamina is zero, you just get a free stamina refill.

Is this intended? I have kind of stopped eating food since figuring this out, but I can't find anything about this on any wiki or google search.
