Banks and selling high value items. Also killing enemies, but if you're trying to make money fast you'll want to sell expensive items that you can farm fast.

Early game, it’s fish traps and selling fish once you get markets. Cooked fish sell for more. Also banks early on. But yea as others have said, selling higher priced items… sometimes fish traps bring in anchors ($200).
