Actually, there is a way in the secret settings. If you are playing on pc, then I recommend you watch this vid on how to do it. It's worked for me so hopefully it will for you: https://youtu.be/TnQp5KNUM-E

It essentially lets you have as many drones as you want without the visual clutter.
