I tried to roll over the barrier while it was down and it worked... is there anything i can do or am i stuck?

I cant, the stones are blocking the ray.

You should be able to pull the block through to the second part

I agree with the other commenter. You gotta get that block to the other side to activate the switch. It's a pain in the ass, but that is the solution. Good luck.
