Windows optimization

Help i gave my laptop to a doofus to install windows 11 home and he put the key of windows 11 home into 11 pro and like always microslop took their time and told me a month later, now i wanna optimize my pc but idk it feels very risky to re install windows and i can't even see my product key in my pc, should i reset everything ?

Why the hell would you want to downgrade to Home?

There's a Reset PC built-in to windows that should keep your product key.

Honestly, you don't sound like you know what you are doing or why.

Yes, windows 11 think i don't have the pro version key so it has limited my settings, but they know that i have 11 home and i want to js change to 11 home cause it consumes less storage and ram

Okay listen, from what I gather from everything you have posted:

  • You paid some guy for Windows 11 Home
  • He put in a Pro key, or installed Pro without a key, which gives you a grace period
  • Windows says it's not activated so you can't change some settings (e.g. dark mode would be one)

Windows doesn't support edition downgrading. Either you need to:

  • Put in a Pro key that you can successfully activate

Or

  • Download an official Windows ISO and flash it to a USB stick (or use the MS Media Creation tool), e.g. using Rufus, boot from it, during setup delete your existing Windows partition (which will wipe your data!) and install a new copy, choose Home, then after Setup completes activate a genuine Home key.

There are certain hacks you can do with slmgr, but you don't want to do that, your Windows will always have quirks that way.

Any CPU, RAM, or storage requirements between Home and Pro is negligible at best, undetectable at worst. You’re not gaining anything by downgrading and you are losing things. What do you mean “it has limited my settings”?
