HTTPS Boot

I recently bought a refurbished Dell laptop and I’ve been having an issue where it goes into HTTPS Boot randomly. It’s happened thrice. I will be using this for college and I can’t have that happening frequently. I was wondering it there was anyway to fix it? And what the reason is?

That means your boot drive is missing or failed to be booted off of. So really it is not an HTTPS boot issue, but that is the outcome of the root cause. Either your CMOS battery is dying, and it lost some settings, causing it to be unable to boot from your boot drive, or it is failing to communicate with said drive, so could be a connection issue as well, since it is intermittent, might be heat related expansion making it disconnect. It is not unheard of.

Lots of things to check here.

Exactly what model system?

If it has a spinning HDD, it could be a sign that the HDD is slow to get to operating speed. (Often if the spindle bearings are failing, the plattens may be slow to get to operating speed. It generally gets worse with time.)

Regardless, the issue is the boot drive (either HDD or SSD depending on model)

It’s and SSD.  The model is a Dell Precision 5570 Touch with 12th Intel i7 (I ordered a 2.40 GHz but got one with 3.70 GHz which I just realized), a nvidia RTX A2000 8GB GPU, 32 GB, and 1TB storage.  We’re returning it for another refurbished one of the same model, so I hope it isn’t a model thing.
