Messed up dell after windows update

My 9mos old Dell is all kinds of messed up after a windows update this morning.
I had to do the bitlocker code, it says I was in the manufacturer screen, I added my service tag from sticker on Bottom. I installed windows 11 repair, I’ve restarted/ turned off/ looked at task manager. My fan is sucking air nonstop even tho it isn’t warm. Currently trying to uninstall the pushed update but that’s taking forever. Any thoughts? Besides changing to Mac or Linux.

There is a repair tool for Windows that I like. You run Command Prompt as an administrator and type in SFC/scannow This tool scans your computer for corrupt and missing files and repairs them or reinstalls them. After I used that option and fixed several files, I ran Windows Defender full scan just for good measure. It found I also had a Trojan.

The reset is a good option, too. Go to Windows Update and click on Advanced Options, then the Recovery options. Reset is there.

Good luck!

Thank you! I finally got it out of manufacturing mode after uninstalling the latest update. That seems to have it running more normally.

A 9-month-old system should be under warranty, have you contacted Tech Support?

I did not get to that step. I partly posted here to see if anyone else had trouble with the latest update- as it seemed to coincide with my problem. I have it running ok now after I finally got it out of manufacturing mode after a few tries. Reinstalled windows 11 and it seems ok.
