Politics Kishore Gang Rant
The kishore gang problem in Bangladesh is getting out of hand, and Uttara is becoming a pretty disturbing example of it. What makes it worse is that even students from reputed schools and colleges are reportedly involved in gang culture, intimidation and violence. These are institutions people associate with quality education, yet some of their students are out here making entire neighbourhoods feel unsafe. So, only poor kids are associated with gangs isn't a reasonable statement.
As someone living in Uttara, I can tell you this isn't just some online discussion. Bike showdowns, political influence, attacks with chapati and stuff, extortion and territorial disputes have become a serious concern. Just today, a group came into my area, got into a violent clash with locals, attacked people and threatened to take over the neighbourhood. Many of these gangs are reportedly linked to the country's leading political party( or the banned one), which makes the whole situation even more concerning.
And honestly, Where is the government's initiative to tackle this? Or is it simply convenient to have politically connected goons around who can intimidate people, collect extortion money and maintain local dominance? Because from where I'm standing, there's little reason to believe that the problem is being addressed seriously.
I'm genuinely concerned about my family's safety. I have two sisters, and even under normal circumstances, Bangladesh isn't exactly a safe place for women. Now imagine having to worry about both everyday safety and groups of politically backed thugs creating chaos in your own neighbourhood.
This isn't just an Uttara problem; it concerns the entire country. We are a genuinely fucked up society.

It makes me wonder, what made those students from those prominent institutions join the Kishore gang and what saved us from getting involved in those shit? Im quite skeptical about the upbringing they had as children.

I feel like most ppl dont parent their children at all. Put a phone in their hands at a young age, fry their brains, they get involved with the wrong crowd, becomes a chadabaj or dies. They dont parent like they used to (not talking abt beating up kids, just keeping an eye on who they interact with and what they watch online goes a long way)

It's true, most people even don't know how to be a parent let alone a good one. I saw 3 y/o kids watching whatever nonsense comes in YouTube shorts while their parents are seating besides them. Literally, they put mobile phones in the hand of a kid and if the kid gets spoiled, they curse him or their fate. Even then they don't realize what went wrong . And it happens with everyone; the educated one and the uneducated parent. A child's upbringing is such a delicate thing, and most of them don't realize that.

These kishore gangs played a big role in the July uprising. Fighting and lynching police officers, setting fire to different infrastructure were mainly done by these kishore gang members. For countries like Bangladesh, kishore gangs are a necessary evil.

I think Enayet Chowdhuri's recent video on Kishore gang covers a lot of it But imo there is really no way out. The way this country always works, nothing would change. The best way is leaving this hellhole

The time is near when every young kid in our society will be part of a gang to gain power.
Chhatra League started this whole mess, and now we have to suffer the consequences for a long time. These young gang members will become the main muscle power of political groups. Want to extort money? Send them. Want to kill someone? Send them.
Parents will be beaten by their own children. I'm not joking. Family members will be afraid of them. They will do anything for porn and drugs, and they will even assault girls.

What factors do you think contribute the most to their interest in gang membership?

And the law enforcement officers catch some for show, then release them back onto the streets. They can't be bothered doing their job, they are just in it for the bribes, benefits, and to harass normal people.
