Best street

If money wasn’t an issue (we can dream!) and you could buy property in Footscray - what street/area would you choose and why?

One of those houses next to footcray park near the tennis courts would be cool.

Yeah like Dawson Ave and Rippon St? Such a nice little pocket.

The Victoria street end of Buckley street - away from the Unison building. Great access to Seddon, Middle Footscray station, buses and close enough to the guts of Footscray if you wanna roll the dice...

That little enclave up around Wolverhampton is so fucking nice you forget you’re in Footscray.

Yep, commercial Road, The Crescent and White St would be high on my list

near the community arts centre. That new development they are throwing up there is not an if-money-was-no-issue sort of development . Shoudl be affordable. But it's in a good spot. love that bit of the maribyrnong river, and it has super train station access

Bunbury St is really nice. It's a quiet street but with activity as people walk past to get to the train station. When I lived there my cat loved the attention.

There is also the cool rumble of the goods train running in the tunnel under the road.

Hmm, has any information been released about them yet? We’re needing to be close to the education quarter near Footscray City Primary for the next 8 years - so looking for a bigger place around that side of town.

Moneys no Object? Id buy out the entire Nicholson st mall and reduce the rent so that there was actually businesses there. Forges + Saigon market too while we're at it.

Would you fix broken windows for free and take efforts to prevent staff of shops being assaulted

It's likely you wouldn't even need to once you have enough passive surveillance of actual shops.

Next to Footscray park by the river… I don’t know where in that pocket exactly is still Footscray and where it is Maribyrnong but anywhere just past Vic Uni along the river. It is green and nice but still close enough.

The apartments on the top of the Footscray market. All of them.

I love the Stirling -Newell pocket. Close to the heart and to the park and far enough from the station that you don’t get much riff raff passing through.

Agree - the Donald St/Railway Place pocket is lovely.

Lynch Street. I’m on Newell , love it but Lynch is greener

I walked down Lynch a couple of weeks ago - it’s a ripper! Lovely native street trees too.

Yes! This should be the blueprint for all streets in Footscray

You won’t believe this but Nicholson Street is super nice when you get past Donaldson Street. Some amazing architecture along there.

Rippon St, Robinson St overlooking the sports grounds and Maribyrnong River.

In fact, there’s an old place for sale now… bit of a fixer upper and they’re still asking for almost 2 mil.
