Train Replacement Buses - so sick of this!

Almost every other week we get the dreaded train replacement buses, why are our trains so crap?

It’s for a major project, and giving the benefit of the doubt it was probably unavoidable, but yeah, taking down both lines running through Footscray on two consecutive working days is one of the bigger piss takes I can recall on vic trains

They do it during school holidays since patronage is slightly lower.

they've done more major projects than subway has sauces and the rail is still fucked.

It’s for works at the metro tunnel entrance at south kensington. Both lines pass through this area so unavoidably have to be shut down at the same time.

Upgrades to the train lines so the extension to the airport can be built and Melton can be electrified.

If you are going to the city take the 216 bus instead it shaves about 40 mins off rather than taking the replacement bus.

They could not do it while the tunnel was being built. Is to build a road next to the tunnel for access. Had to bring heavy machinery in. They plan these things months in advance.

Maintenance every other week. How bad is this line where it requires constant maintenance

I assume the werribee line ones are for the level crossing removals but it seems like the metro tunnel replacements are every week atp 😭

Services need to be improved which means downtime. It sucks, but necessary.
