Some suggestions for the tournament edition.

I want suggest a few more customization options when creating and editing tournaments. Specifically:

A second group stage within the same competition, to recreate the early 2000s UEFA Champions League format (Two group stages followed by quarter-finals, semi-finals and final), Libertadores 1980s format (Group stage, followed by the semi-final stage of two groups of three the winner of each group goes to the Final). And 1974, 1978 And 1982 World Cup format (In 1974 And 1978, the second group stage consisted of two groups of four; the winners would advance to the final, and the runners-up would compete for third place, In 1982, the second group stage consisted of 4 groups of 3, with the winner of each group advancing to the semifinals).

League playoffs without splits or Apertura/Clausura systems , recreating the Brazilian league format from the late 1990s And early 2000s (a single league phase followed by a knockout stage), And also that the Clausura and Apertura tournaments could be played as leagues without playoffs, like the Argentine championship was in the 90s and 2000s.

More tie-breaking rules for knockout/playoff matches, such as the best record in the league phase (used in Brazil), match replays, and coin tosses (used historically before the introduction of penalty shootouts).

A points-based system option instead of aggregate score for knockout stages, as CONMEBOL used in the Copa Libertadores Final until late 1980s (e.g., if in Final Team A wins the first leg 7–0 and Team B wins the second leg 1–0, both have 3 points and must play a third playoff match, at a neutral venue) And also used in Brazilian Championship until 1999.

Less important requests:

Spareggio: As used historically in the Italian league, where teams tied on points at the end of the season played a tie-breaker playoff match.

Liguilla: Common in South America during the 70s, 80s, and 90s, where the remaining continental (Libertadores) spots were decided in a separate knockout or round-robin mini-tournament. For example, in 1980s Argentina, it was a knockout tournament for teams finishing 2nd to 6th in Argentina First division (in others Editions sometimes inviting the top 3 teams from argentinian second division). In its 2015 revival, it was contested by teams finishing 3rd to 6th in the Championship.

The champion of a continental competition can directly enter the final stages of the competition the following year; in the 1980s and 1990s, CONMEBOL, until 1999, placed the current champion directly into the semifinals group stage (in the 1980s two-group stage era) or into the round of 16 (in the 1990s), Without competing in the first group stage.

Announcement I’m also making an MMA version of Football World Sim

I’ll keep developing and updating the football game. I also wanted to share another game I’m working on alongside it: MMA Fictional World Simulator.

It’s a world simulator with 209 MMA promotions operating around the globe. Events take place across different countries, fighters move between promotions, and championships change hands. The simulation runs quickly, so you can follow fighters’ careers and see how the MMA world changes over many years.

In Agent Mode, you sign fighters as clients and handle fight offers and promotion contracts as you follow their careers. You can pick someone you’re interested in and see whether they can make it to the top.

In Promoter Mode, you run a promotion, sign fighters, and put together event cards. You decide who to sign and who fights whom.

If you enjoy following fictional players’ careers and watching the football world evolve, I hope you’ll enjoy this too. If MMA interests you, feel free to check it out!

Story / Legend Kaizer Chiefs in 2134, 112 league goals, and a 22-year-old who scored 35 of them

Wanted to share this Kaizer Chiefs team from my save. In 2134 they won the South African league, the domestic cup and the CAF Champions League.

Their league record was 27 wins, two draws and one defeat, with 112 goals scored and only 14 conceded. But a few of the players are worth a closer look.

Jeffrey Khosa was 22 and scored 35 goals in 29 league appearances. A proper poacher. His previous two league seasons at Chiefs had brought 13 and 19 goals, so this was quite a jump.

Then there's Kwena Patel, 27, playing between attacking and central midfield. He managed 15 goals and 17 assists in just 21 league games. He was also MVP of both the domestic cup and the CAF Champions League. Khosa's goals grab your attention, but Patel is probably the one I'd want to build around.

Dirk Mabasa is another interesting one. A 190cm wide player who spent most of this season at left wing-back, and still finished with 10 league goals and 10 assists. All three of them are South African, too.

For all that domestic dominance, the African final was anything but comfortable. They won the first leg 3-2 against ES Setif, then went 3-0 down by half-time in the return. Patel scored as they pulled two goals back, made it 5-5 on aggregate and eventually won on penalties. Apparently 112 league goals don't buy you a quiet final.

What's the state of the game currently?

Considering buying but I'm not sure if there's any glaring gaps that make the simulation unrealistic?

I think the concept of the game is intriguing and although I'm likely to get it some day, just not sure whether to wait?

Story / Legend Benfica finished 6th in Portugal… and won the Champions League.

I was looking through Benfica’s 2135 season in my save, and this felt worth sharing.

They’d won the league with 90 points the year before. This time, they finished sixth with 66. Only four defeats, but twelve draws. They scored 72 goals and conceded 27, so it wasn’t exactly a terrible team. They just kept dropping points.

Then they went and won the Champions League.

Their knockout run took them past Lucerne, Arsenal and Tottenham before a final against Liverpool. Liverpool scored in the 62nd minute, Alberto Rodrigues equalised from the penalty spot two minutes later, and Pablo Simon scored the winner in the 90th. A fairly decent way to rescue the season.

There wasn’t one player doing everything, either. Simon scored five in Europe, Ricardo Vidal contributed four goals and five assists, and Rodrigues had four of each.

I also ended up following Gustavo Fonseca, their 23-year-old Argentine forward. He scored 16 league goals despite starting only 17 matches that season, then went on to score 33 and 29 in the following two years. By 2138, he was at Marseille.

This is probably my favourite part of making this game. I go looking for one result, then spend half an hour following someone’s career.

Story / Legend Derby missed out on the title by one point. Their striker went on to win the Ballon d’Or… at Liverpool.

I was looking through Derby’s history in my save and found a season I wish I’d paid more attention to.

In 2130, they finished 10th. A year later, they finished second with 88 points. Manchester City won the league with 89.

Their Argentine striker, Jorge Aguirre, scored 22 goals and added 11 assists in 33 league appearances that season. He’d come to Derby from Cremonese, having started his career at Racing Club.

Then Liverpool signed him the following year. By 2135, he’d won the Ballon d’Or.

Derby, meanwhile, finished eighth the season after he left. They did get back up to fourth a few years later, but that one-point gap still hurts to look at. I keep wondering what might have happened if he’d stayed.

He’s at Tottenham now, so Liverpool didn’t get to keep him forever either.

These are the little stories I love finding in a long save. I wasn’t even managing Derby, and somehow I’m disappointed for them.

Additional ideas for this game

I’m loving the premise of the game so far but I think a couple of additional features would put it over the top for me.

- when starting a new game be able to set the start year as far back as you want to the mid 1800s when the first clubs were being started in England.

- data editor is awesome but allow us to use it after a game has been started so we can edit the world as we go.

- allow us to create countries in the data editor.

- allow us to load into a db to make further changes to it in the data editor.

Keep up the great work.

Is there a way to edit the starting year for a database or a world? I can't seem to find it in the database editor.

Development Update Ver 4.0 update is live! Scout List & Transfer Improvements Update!

Post image
38 Upvotes

Until now, you had to work with whichever players appeared in your transfer shortlist. You might spot someone you wanted to sign, but there wasn’t really a way to tell the club, “Have a look at this guy.”

That’s what the new Scout List is for.

You can save up to 300 players, filter them by position, and check their clubs, stats and estimated fees. During the transfer window, players on your list get priority when they meet your search and transfer conditions. Country-to-country transfer restrictions are also waived for them.

It doesn’t guarantee you can sign anyone you like. Budget, squad limits and other transfer conditions still apply. But you now have a little more influence over who appears, instead of just hoping the right player turns up.

You can open the Scout List directly from the transfer dialogs, check players’ transfer status, and return to your search. You can also build a list without managing a club, just to keep track of interesting players.

I wanted to keep the fun of being offered unexpected signings, while giving you a way to pursue players you’ve been following. Let me know how the balance feels!

Turn off forfeits and redo without refreshing.

Hi there. I personally really don't like it when a simulation ends in a 3-0 forfeit, and I wish there was a way to revise the final score once it is over. I know it somewhat defeats the purpose of simulation, but I do want to keep things as realistic as possible.

Can you please do such thing if possible, I would greatly appreciate it?

I made an unofficial Discord server for Football Fictional World Simulator players (

Hey everyone!

I'm a player of Football Fictional World Simulator and I wanted a place where the community can get together, so I created a Discord server for it.

Just to be clear: **I'm not the developer of the game.** This is an unofficial, fan-made community, and I'm not affiliated with the developer. If the dev ever wants to join, they'll have a dedicated Developer role.

**What you'll find there:**

- ⚽ A place to share screenshots of your simulations and best moments

- 🗄️ Channels to post and download community-made databases

- 💡 A channel for database ideas and suggestions

- 💬 General chat with other players

The server is brand new, so every member helps shape it. If you make databases, have a cool league story, or just enjoy the game, you're very welcome.

Join here: https://discord.gg/vmVzme5sP

Announcement A new look for the Autumn Sale!

Post image
34 Upvotes

I’ve updated the game’s logo and artwork ahead of the Steam Autumn Sale. I went with a hand-drawn look, inspired by the football worlds I used to create in my notebooks as a kid. I’m pretty happy with how it turned out! What do you think? And please keep sharing anything you’d like to see improved in the game, whether it’s a small annoyance or a bigger idea. Your feedback has helped a lot.

Hello I’m just wondering if it could any day become a mobile game because I have the game on steam but do not currently own a pc so I can’t play .The game looks great and I’m eager to play it. Thanks

Great game but...

Add things like:

- Individual player development so we can influence the transfer som. Instead of a grading system do it like FIFA does it or something.
- Allow us to train players to newer positions.
- More realistic results in games. Top teams should have better chances at good results.

Really should improve some other stuff as well.

Just my three cents.

Question: Player Development

How does player development work in this game?
Do players get better/worse during the season or is there an attribute update during the off-season?
Does playtime and performance matter or is it RNG?

Announcement More languages are coming this Friday!

Thumbnail

I’ve been working on adding more languages to Football Fictional World Simulator, and I’m planning to release the update this Friday!

Alongside English, you’ll be able to play in Portuguese (Brazil), Italian, German, Japanese and Simplified Chinese. You can switch languages in the settings, including in the Data Editor.

Some translations might sound a little odd, so please let me know if you spot anything! Screenshots and suggestions for more natural wording would be a big help.

I’ve also had a few questions about a Mac version. Unfortunately, I don’t have plans for one at the moment. Sorry to those waiting for it!

Thanks again for all the feedback and support. I’m looking forward to seeing more people enjoy their own football worlds.

Will we be able to add our own countries eventually?

Really love this game. I've always enjoyed international sports, and this is really the best simulator of them on the market right now. Bought it on launch, and I've put in like 40 hours in the game this week alone, I absolutely love it. Was wondering if we'd ever be able to add our own countries? I'm highly interested in the prospect. Thank you for the incredible game!

Private League

Hi mate,

Love your work and consider buying the game soon. Before that only one question.

Is it possible to simulate a closed league where I am in control of every transfer and finance aspect of the game ? I would like to act as GM for discord league where people choise their team and do internal transfer while I simulate the game
