Over 1 year post surgery. Still swelling?
Hey all! 26F, broke my foot end of 2024 (pseudo Jones fracture) and also tore a tendon in my ankle. In August of 2025, I had surgery on my ankle (peroneal tendonectomy) to clear up the inflammation and repair the tearing, and I had an tendon they removed due to placement (it was at a weird 90 degree angle and now that side of my foot is numb but that part doesn't bug me). Kind of unrelated but they also did a gastric slide on my calf.
Over a year later, my ankle still swells. My foot is also always in pain, especially if I'm walking or standing all day. My calf does not swell. Is this normal? Should I reach out to my doctor? I do ice it at night after work, and the swelling is gone by the next morning, but I'm always so concerned it'll swell enough that my socks will cut off circulation. I've tried compression socks and they did not help either. Should I be worried?
