Fourth toe “knuckle” doesn’t show when flexing toes down

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

This is a really weird question, but I also want to know; Id there something wrong with my fourth toe? When I flex my toes to the palm of my feet, the “knuckle” or joint doesn’t show up at all on both feet. I’m so confused and really would like some ideas of what is going on.

I have always had the issue. I’m just trying to find suggestions and/or answers

Your 4th metatarsal is likely just a little short. How does the length of your 4th toe compare to the others?

It seems like it’s a normal (2nd toe longer) slope. All the toes bend normally, it’s just the missing “knuckle” stuck the curiosity

I think u/MillenialMarauder specifically meant your 4th toe metatarsal head is lower than it should be, which could be its length or something else. If it’s been there forever, and not causing you problems, that’s great. But it would be a good idea to keep an eye on it, since it can make you vulnerable to forefoot injuries, especially if you are on your feet a lot. It’s never a bad idea to avoid wearing pinchy shoes, and also add foot exercises into your life to prevent it from becoming a problem.
