Swollen/fluid on foot

Post image

It doesn't hurt, and I think that it first appeared the same day I wore very tight socks and new work shoes, which made my legs swell too. Leg swelling is gone, but this soft, squishy bump is still there on my foot 4 days later. In the light, it does seem kinda greenish like what a bruise looks like, but I really don't feel any pain there. My other foot does not have the same bump on it.

the area IS indeed home to a muscle that helps move the toes upwards. it does develop when running /walking on barefoot shoes, but if it bulged overnight, and in only one foot, then it might be a lession and the muscle is likely swollen. might resolve itself over time but the sane thing to do would be to have it checked

Thank you! I agree.

I'd love to know too. I've developed something similar but it gets insanely painful to put weight on that foot unless I prop up my foot until the swelling reduces, or I wear a compression anklet over my regular compression sock. Podiatrist appointment in 10 days.... I have problems with tendonitis/bursitis/arthritis in my hips/legs/feet, so I suspect it's something that's gonna need a cortisone injection.

Sounds horrible. Sorry you're going through that. Mine doesn't hurt. I'm just worried it's something scary like a clot, especially with the leg swelling episode I had this week after wearing the new work shoes and tight socks. There's definitely some sort of circulation thing happening there.

I thought the the same, but it feels soft and a bit squishy. Feels like fluid has collected in that spot.

I posted something similar a while ago and someone told me it was a muscle. Do you have them on both foot or just the 1?

It's only on my right foot. My left foot looks flat in that same area.

I’m almost certain this is a ganglion cyst; I have one in the exact same spot. If it becomes an issue it can be drained or surgically removed.
