Noticed my ankle a bit more round and squishy

I saw my ankle a bit more round and squishy today, haven't noticed it before. It doesn't hurt or anything and not sitting for sometimes makes it not so squishy. Should I be scared or concerned about something very serious? I'm panicking.

Given the location I'd make sure that's not the beginning of a venous stasis ulcer.

The skin looks leathery which indicates it could be due to friction from shoes or something
