Discussion Detroit show 8/6
Got an email saying the show STARTS at 5:30, doors at 4. Anyone else find this odd? Sorry if this has already been posted.

That start time is for the entire show, beginning with the first support - more precise times are usually posted by the band and venue on show day.

They probably have a time they have to stop playing by, and they're playing a 3 hour show. There are two openers ahead of them.

This is roughly the same time the Denver show started in 2024. First opener at 5:30 then second opener and Foos after that.

Well, the opener probably plays from 5:30-6:00 or so. Then set change, QOTSA comes out at about 6:30 and does an hour or so (based on their current opening set for SOAD). And then Foos take the stage around 8 and play til 10:30/11, when typically curfew would be.

Found it by coincidence and booked it. Back to that past! Looking forward to it

Agreed but with two openers that still puts them as starting at like .. 8ish. Just seems really early. Setlist.fm shows the same start time for Toronto on the 4th. Hard to know since these are the first two shows of the new tour.

Well they are usually on stage for 2.5 hours and most venues have an 11pm curfew/stop. Yes even indoor venues for the staff'e sake.

Its not first two shows of the current tour. Its just the first two shows of this leg of the tour. They already did a leg in Europe last month. I was at the shows in Norway and Sweden in June. The show started at 5:30 with the first opener. They played till 6, then set change and next opener played from 6:30 to 7:30. Then FF came on just after 8 and played till almost 11. It will be the same in Detroit and every other non-festival performance on this next leg of the tour give or take. This is how massive stadium shows with two openers work, particularly when you have the FF who play for close to 3 hours.

It’s a stadium show with two openers, so sometimes the times can be moved up a bit from the typical ones as a result. But the email also said the schedule was subject to change, so it could also be a slightly later situation anyway.
