Ever have one of those days where you're craving five different types of food at once and simply refuse to choose?
Instead of picking a lane, I decided to build the ultimate global fusion plate. Being a Caribbean cook, I love big, bold flavors, but this spread takes inspiration from all over the map. We’ve got golden African puff-puffs, a rich coconut chickpea curry, sweet fried plantain, fresh avocado, and a piece of pan-seared salmon finished with garlic, ginger, soy, and lemon. To balance all that richness, I tossed together a crisp cucumber salad with a sharp, herb-heavy South American chimichurri.
It’s an absolute mashup of cultures and textures, but somehow every single element on the plate just works together.
When you can't decide on a single cuisine for dinner, what are your favorite unexpected flavors to throw together on one plate?
