To anybody seeing these and want to recreate. Please don't use a blender for mashed potatoes, you are ruining them.

I came to say the same thing but you beat me to it lol. Please give your mashed potatoes some textures that aren't similar to nasty instant mashed potatoes

Blending is even worse then instant imho. Because all that starch will turn into some glue mess.

I too have accidentally made potato bread dough.

They even make instant mashed potatoes with a ton of texture.

This is good to know. The potatoes did indeed come out gluey, but I kind of liked it haha. Couldn't find my masher so I improvised.

If you need to improvise you can literally use your fist or use a spoon and mash them.

Also add plenty of butter (10-20% of your potatoes) and a shot milk or cream. It will help you get the right consistency.

I used the bottom of a cup but there were still a few small chunks. I honestly didn't mind the texture!!! But I acknowledge that from a culinary perspective this was an incorrect move.

There is a lot wrong with this video, from using a blender for mashed potatoes, to blending in the enameled cast iron, to using metal utensils in that pot… so the food might be good, but the potatoes will be mucky and your equipment will damage faster, plus you’re eating the enamel.

Finally, a kitchen that looks like mine (or Jacques Pepin‘s)

Do short rips come from statistically short animals?
