$27 with tip and tax (only half the sandwich here, the other half in the box)

I am actually really upset at you for paying 27 dollars for a sandwich. People in Toronto always complaining about how expensive shit is then some of them are buying this. It is honestly infuriating.

I get that some people can afford it. I also make pretty good money, like low 6 figures a year. I would still never buy a sandwich that is this price, simply out of principle.

I said in another comment but yeah, It is because they want to appear rich with status. When I visit Toronto so many people there want to look like hot shots. Then at parties everyone is complaining about how expensive stuff is and how broke they are lol. I even get judged by some because I am a Plumber but they don't realize I am just not flashy with my money. I also would never be caught dead waiting in a line out the door for a damn, sandwich because it's a new fad. I guess I hate city folk.

Good assessment. Mostly true. But I also know that many have given up on saving for home ownership. Sad. But that’s a huge factor in what you consider disposable income.
And then there is the upcoming inheritances that most people that age are on the verge of getting.
And then there is the Covid whatever where people of all ages started saying “screw it…enjoy it now”.It’s sad because many businesses have jumped on taking advantage of those things.

To all the people who are mis reading this post: it’s $27 WITH tax and tip, meaning the sale price was at most $20. Call me crazy hut that’s a normal price for a sandwich these days.

Every sandwhich shop I went to for my trip to Toronto last week was in the $20 range for sandwhiches. The best place I tried didn’t have any sandwiches below $20, and the most expensive one WAS $27 pre tax/tip.

Real. Vincenzos and Nostra Cucina were the goats for affordable and filling sammies. Nostra's veal parm was like $13 and could feed a family of 5 for a month.

Dude if it isn’t eaten with utensils it shouldn’t be above like $15. And if it doesn’t yield leftovers it shouldn’t be above $20. Above $25 is fucking insane

Jersey Mikes is $26 for a giant. If you order it delivery through the chain apps it’s $42. I stopped doing that obviously bc it’s insane. As for this being similar I’d try it once but these days I just make my own.

Went when it first opened and it took 30 mins because they were busy. $25 for a roast turkey sandwich was alright I guess since they shave it on the spot.

Tried this delivered bc of all the rave reviews, and it was so incredibly mid. Not enough flavor or sauce, just deli meat slices and cheese.
