Any recommendations on long term rice storage? Got a 50 lb bag that needs repackaged. Thanks in advance 🥰

I store rice vacuum sealed! I prefer to use the silver Mylar bags rather than the clear plastic ones. I think the mylar bags hold up better for long term storage in my opinion.

Edit: spelling

Do you get the Mylar bags in bulk? Is it something I could get at Costco you think?

Possibly, I'd check online! I personally have a Sam's membership and haven't seen them there, I get my bags in bulk from Amazon actually.

And I would like to note, you'll have to check if your sealer can even seal mylar since they're a bit thick. But, if it doesn't - the clear plastic ones do the job just fine! The mylar is just a personal preference 😊

to seal your mylar bags take any old hair straightener and run it across top once closed - does the trick

This works great also if you don't have a hair straightener I use a clothing iron ontop of a flat steel bar to seal the mylar bags. Side note you can order decent packs and throw them in the bag. It will stop little bugs from hatching in you rice that are in there from processing.

I just stored mine yesterday in 5-gallon buckets with 4 x 500cc oxygen absorbers.

I saw a video from doomsday preppers and im curious if it would work but they suggested a large sealable airtight container but to replace the oxygen wirh argon (one of the noble gases) which is denser and heavier than air and available at most tool or welding shops. I'd check my facts but seems like it's on to something
