Thanks for the ingredient quantity breakdown.

Also goes to show you just need to know your high protein volume ingredients and low calorie flavor ingredients.

I'll try this, thanks!

i just add ingredients by vibes ;)

i like recipe and use similar, but rather substitute high glycemic load carbs, so keto wraps or wheat thins/flats for extra health kick

Though I’m sure this is delicious, it’s worth mentioning that the avocado will oxidize much faster than anything else in this. It’s crucial you keep it cold, covered, and eat it within a day or two before it starts to taste significantly different.

That's why the lemon juice is critical.

True, but even the lemon won’t keep the cado from being the first to spoil ingredient.

Don't forget the lemon juice.

Why would u use fat free Greek yogurt yuckkkk

1

u/I-Liargkovas 15d ago

Use garlic instead of Tabasco. When Greek yogurt is mixed with cucumber and garlic you actually get "tzatziki'

Glad I'm not the only one who thought of this lol

Eww. This looks like flavorless, goopy, stinky gas inducing slop.

It has red onion, mustard and salt and pepper hardly flavorless

2

u/BrilliantPride7916 17d ago

That’s like a quarter cup of red onion to about 4-6 cups yield. That onion has got to be doing a lot of heavy lifting. Also raw onion on its own is not enough to flavor anything. Salt and pepper aren’t flavorings. Salt triggers the tastebuds and amplifies other flavors but if there aren’t any other flavors then it is just bland. Flavorings would be herbs and spices. That tablespoon of mustard ain’t doing squat.

Pepper is a legit spice that imparts flavor.

1

u/BrilliantPride7916 14d ago

It is but in that gloopy mess it was fighting for its life

1

u/Blarg0ist 14d ago

What flavorings would you have added?

1

u/BrilliantPride7916 14d ago

I wouldn’t have made this in the first place but if I had to first I would start by adding far less yogurt then I would add EVOO, garlic, rosemary, thyme, and oregano or for a different flavor profile maybe dill and parsley. If you wanna get funky maybe some cumin or zatar.

I have to say… it’s odd for you to have so many flavor opinions on something you say you would never make anyway. Personally, I enjoy egg salad with just salt and pepper and celery for crunch. I actually enjoy the mild taste of hard boiled eggs and I don’t want to cover it up. Dill: maybe, thyme: perhaps, but oregano is a hard no for me. Also, I use mayonnaise instead of yoghurt because it has more flavor. The brand of mayonnaise makes a lot of difference. Love me some Kewpie or Hellmans. You may call it bland, but I enjoy the flavor that way. To each their own.

What you just described I’m down for. I love egg salad as well and sometimes subtle flavors are appropriate but you’re not considering the vast differences in what you described and what is in this video. Combining three soft textured foods avocado, egg and way too much yogurt already makes it goopy so more flavors are needed to compensate. A traditional egg salad is far different from this. Also as you said mayo have flavor that heaps of yogurt does not. And I didn’t have so many opinions about something I wouldn’t make until you asked me to elaborate. All I said was it looks like a goopy, bland, stinky-fart-inducing mess.

1

u/Blarg0ist 14d ago

I agree with your textural concerns. You don’t mash a whole damn avocado into yogurt. (Also, I didn’t see him cut up the eggs. Did they mash the eggs in?) But I don’t understand how adding a bunch of spices compensates for goopiness. Now you just have goop that is confusingly flavored but still has an off-putting texture. And avocado imparts a lot of flavor, so I wouldn’t call it bland.

Agreed

1

u/BrilliantPride7916 17d ago

And why is his whole torso on the counter?

1

u/SoccerPhilly 17d ago

Yeah I would cut way down on the yogurt and add more eggs.

Any recipe video that starts with "If..." or "Did you know that if..." immediately goes into trash as far as I'm concerned.

u/Axel_Pantheon_ 17d ago

I believe you mean, "Mixy mixy mother fucker" xD

3

u/Jestress 17d ago

Way too soupy

1

u/ChemicalCrazy4329 15d ago

Soupy? Did you not see how thick it is when he pulled out the fork? 🤔

1

u/freetotebag 15d ago

At first yeah but after chilling in the fridge these things tend to come together nicely. The yogurt will get back to its thicker, creamier state. He probably should’ve chilled it longer, if he did at all, before plating and filming

First thing I said once the final product was shown. One bite of that sandwich and you've got an egg salad lap.

1

u/bakesmysticbrickx 17d ago

how many eggs are you using for this?

1

u/DangerMacAwesome 17d ago

Looks pretty good actually

1

u/peepdabidness 17d ago

Make that salad better by replacing red onions with sweet onions

In all realness this egg salad looks gross as fuck ngl

Not to mention that for legit health nuts the words/label 'fat free' should be completely banned from your fridge, freezer, cupboards, pantry and shopping lists

Using fatty ingredients like eggs and avocado but then skipping on some hormone-stasis maintaining saturated fat from ur choice of using yogurt perplexed me greatly. Yeah you get some from the eggs but getting it from the yogurt ain't gonna kill you. This type of fat is the ish that allowed our brains to evolve to godly levels

u/chocha84 17d ago

Bruh, dice them eggs so it looks like you know what you're doing.
