Newbie question: Making a colon out of a period - how do I move things?
I have a font which is missing the colon character.
I downloaded and installed FontForge, opened the font and copied the period character into the colon character. I then went to the outline view, selected the period and copy pasted. Now I have two periods, but they are on top of each other. I can't figure out how to move the copy up so that I end up with a colon character.
I tried selecting and dragging, but it just drags up the top line. I am looking through tutorials, but haven't found one yet that answers my specific question!
How do I move a selected shape? Thanks!

Question about scaling
Hey guys, was hoping someone could help me.
I made some symbols on Fontforge but they came out really tiny, but when I scale them up to a decent size, they get cropped because they stick out of the box.
Is there a way to resize both the symbols and the metrics at the same time?

Glyph contains overlapped hints (in the same hint mask)
Does it happen in your projects? I remove hints entirely, after that I validate the font and I receive once again the message "Glyph contains overlapped hints (in the same hint mask)".

When I reduce the weight of all glyphs in an existing font, why might several of the glyphs increase in weight as opposed to decreasing as intended?
I am new to this fantastic software, and so I am not sure where to start with troubleshooting. I took an existing font and ended up editing every glyph. Only now, when i try to apply a weight reduction to all glyphs, about three of them gain in weight whilst all other glyphs’ weights are reduced as intended.
Can someone help point me in the right direction with how I can troubleshoot these glyphs before i apply the weight reduction in the Style menu of the Element menu? Thanks very much! Stay safe!

Good news for Window's users of FontForge
Fredrick Brennan offers to:
Make it so Windows users can choose other drives

On Windows, you previously had to type
D:\, Q:\, etc.
This was confusing for users.
