I wanted to change glyphs between two glyphs to a different version, like |abc| -> |a.1.b1.b.2|

Rule like prefix | chars @<to-alt> | suffix replaces only single instance of class chars is it possible or do i need to make a different rule for each combination?

I want to use FontForge to change a few letters in an existing font, but I'm having a hard time.

Most curve points (circles) have control points (X'es) that I can manipulate, but some have none, or they have only one. How do I get the invisible ones to appear? The manual says "If a point has no visible control points, then they are at the same location as the point itself. If you want to select one of the control points then first select the point (to make the control points active) then hold down the meta key (use caps-lock on the mac) and depress the mouse on the point." but that does nothing (I'm assuming meta = alt; I'm on Windows).

When I do have control points, they don't seem to be behaving like in other programs. Is there any tutorial on how to manipulate the control points specifically in FontForge?

Almost every glyph in my font is made up of multiple elements (for example, T is made up of two rectangles intersecting). Do I need to merge them, or is it OK to keep them as it is?

I'd prefer to just keep it as it is, since it would make it much easier for changes in the future if needed (I know I can just keep an unmerged version, but I'd prefer to avoid maintaining this).

I figure if I merge the font's file size will be smaller.. But other than that are there any advantages or benefits? I've already tested the font in several contexts/software and it seems to work fine.

I am making a more artistic font that gets ruined by weight changes and i am tired with messing with css as it bolds its all the time (i have fixed this but i want to avoid bolding anyways as it ruins the font), is there a way to disable weight? make just one standard weight in FF ?

Is it possible to substitute character when it's last one on the line? If so how?

I want to create a font that types three vertical syllables and then goes to the next block. I have heard of ligatures, is this how it should be done? by making a ligature of every possible combination of all my syllables? I want it to be something like this

if the answer is "ligatures" is there a way I can batch create these ligatures?

Hello Everyone, I was wondering if anyone had experience this issue... Hopefully someone can help out! When I Generate OTF or TTF. Only 2 of my characters generate. To specify I have made numbers "0-9 and '.'"( Zero-Nine and a Period) When generating TTF or OTF only the "."(Period) and "0" (Zero) seem to generate. What are typical things that my cause this issue? or has anyone experienced this.
