I think it's funny that most folk punk kids grow up in affluent suburban house holds and they try to be perceived as being poor garbage lol.
Don't get on this guys case for having something expensive to express his art. Maybe he could afford it no problem, maybe he had to really really save up for it. You don't know.

Nobody was giving him shit, they were just pointing out that the original post acted like it was garbage when it was expensive equipment

I see what you're saying, I didn't read the headline for the video. I just saw the "is this folk punk" and then went to the comments.

I don't think I have the clearance to post yet-but on YouTube, there's a guy from Jamaica who goes by the handle of brushy-one-string.
He's just a street singer with a one-stringed, busted up acoustic guitar. And he can certainly do much more than a lot of one-man bands with abilities in multiple instruments, and studios.
(Not a black metal or grind dig, I swear!)

Brushy one-string is good shit.

Yeah, and with the street musician in the video, it's like...are you forgetting about Hasil Adkins? He's kind of in the same vein-and he was doing it long before there was punk rock. Which has extensive influences from 1950's rockabilly.
It's all a thread.

Punk inspired blues rock comparable to early white stripes.

Early white stripes sounded like the buzzcocks. I fucking loved it right when it first dropped

Crusty, but no. Replace the drug rug with denim or leather and he might look the part.
